Nicole Chyr

Nicole is a Colorado native who has always been involved with competitive sports, but didn’t begin to run long distances until she attended college at CSU.  Her first half marathon literally brought tears to her eyes because of the challenging course.  It was then and there that she made the decision to get serious about running, and to try and never let another race “run over her” mentally and physically again.

Nicole  works full time for a surgeon in Lone Tree  Colorado, and has a 5 year old son named Lucas.  ”Running makes me stronger in every aspect of life.  Because of running I have been able to endure life changing events, and over the years have become stronger and faster.  I love everything running does for your mind and body!”

In 2011 she placed 1st for women in the Colfax Marathon,1st for women in the  Maui Marathon, and placed 3rd for women in the Rock ’n’ roll Denver Marathon. She set a sub 2:50 PR at CIM in December of 2011, and has the goal to run a sub 2:45 marathon in 2012.  Ultimately she would like to qualify for the Olympic time trials in 2016.

Nicole’s favorite distance races are the half marathon and the marathon. She likes to mix up the terrain between street and trail races, with one of her favorite events being the La Sportiva Vail Half Marathon.

Nicole is excited to be part of such an elite team in 2012!
