Jeremy’s Blog #6: Dealing with Disappointment
First off I wanted to thank everyone who has been reading the blog! Secondly, I wanted to apologize for how long it has taken to put this posting up. To be perfectly honest I have just been pretty disappointed by the way the San Jose Half Marathon went and I haven’t wanted to think about racing and running lately. That race was something that I had put quite a bit of work into and to see it end on the side of the road with an ice pack was a bummer. I have definitely dealt with my fair share of injuries and this whole deal is not new or novel for me, but no matter how many times it...

Well folks, the countdown to the San Jose Half Marathon is down to just a few days. Three days to be exact. I have been working towards this race for quite a while so I’m hoping it will showcase all of the hard runs in training that I have put in. Racing, however, can be a fickle thing I have learned over the years. Sometimes you can feel ready and prepared and you get a few miles in and find that your body isn’t all that psyched to be out racing. This is definitely not a phenomenon that applies specifically to running, as anyone that has taken any major exam or given a huge...

Football season has begun! Great news! In fact I am writing this blog while watching college football… More great news! But seriously, as soon as the leaves start changing and there is that little bit of crisp to the air, it signals not only the start of a new football season, but that which is much more important to a 135lbs. man like myself, the start of a new fantasy football season! Fortunately, it was a good start to the season for me as I led our Newton Warehouse League with 122 points this week. On a related note, I actually get to go to a football game soon, which I am quite...

Since my last blog two weeks ago I have been waiting for something really fun/worthwhile to happen so that I could write about it. Well… In this case it has been business as usual for me the last two weeks. I have been running and working and enjoying the increasingly nice weather here in Boulder. I have been able to diversify my work schedule a bit too, to include more high school form clinics and events, which makes my work week that much more fun. Also, I spent quite a while in front of the TV watching other people run at the Track and Field World Championships in Daegu, South...

Sorry for the delay in blogging, as a lot has happened since my last blog posting! First off, Team Alchemy has had its launch and it couldn’t have been more successful at the Pearl Street Mile with my teammate Kenyon Neuman placing first in 4:15 with me right on his heels at the same time clocking in second. We definitely had the best cheering section of anyone in the race as we had the whole Newton crew behind us! Everyone was unbelievably supportive and stayed not only until our mile was finished but also hung around for our launch party to share some brews and pizza. After the mile...

Hello and welcome to my first attempt at blogging. It seems nowadays that everyone and their mom has a blog on the internet that attempts to do everything from make you laugh to temporarily amuse you to give you some fantastic “gems” of information. Mine will do none of these things. Just kidding! Hopefully, for all of you that are interested in Newton Running, Team Alchemy, elite running, or just casually browsing the internet, that my blog will give you a little more insight into the mind of a full time employee who runs an awful lot on the side! Anyway, getting down to...
